i AM esper sets it off with two Scolex releases!



This is a live recording from a show recorded on 6/10/12 in New Brunswick, NJ. Includes Qixoni doing live loops and effects. FIRST 15 COPIES COME WITH SPECIAL ARTWORK AS SEEN IN PIC!












This release is a split with Yipsilanti, Michigan's Josh Hedges. My first intro into Josh's work was under his more breakcore sounding project Little Mack. This split comes from his Ambient / Experimental endeavor Theater Of The Haunted Eyelid. Hopefully these recordings will send you into the same dream-like state that I experienced. Staring into the sun is encouraged while listening.

SCOLEX GETS IT'S OINK ON 

"SUSLATRY":

Latin prefix "sus"-swine.
A pig is any of the animals in the genus Sus.

Greek suffix -latry, -olatry:
worship; excessively, fanatically devoted to someone or something
"service paid to the gods"

Baconhanger's "Suslatry" has a lot going on. Jam packed with sophisticated soundscrapey  tones that shred to the bone all while being carried along by "end of life" pulse like beats.  Songs like "Mandrake" (might be the best song I've heard all year) and "Ignis Sacer" make this short and sweet release very appeasing.

KOKECHI

ALAS, KOKECHI

About a decade ago HC / DnB duo Helicopter Kick threw their weight around sound system / parties in Pomona and various parts of California. After the project ran its course both artist went their seperate ways. Mr Unruly concentrated more on doing HC (no surprise as he was involved in Lambchop The Bloody Lamb with Techno Belligerent around the same time), while Rachel stuck to her songstress guns and whipped up these gems. Sitting on the back burner FAR too long, these whimsical tracks will  leave you with a euphoric floating sensation you'll find hard to get elsewhere. A calculated "everything except the kitchen sink" approach to bedroom recording with layers of hollow bodied guitar, angelic vocals and artsy samplage. Enjoy!
